Just something for you to think about. Something the Holy Spirit spoke to me, so I will share it.

A long time ago I watched some kind of reality television show. I don't remember what it was. I only remember this one part. One of the people on the show was going over his background and family life. He was some kind of "workaholic" type that didn't spend very much time with his family. He had children, but didn't interact with them very much. It was something like that. Don't remember exactly what it was, but the he described himself as an absent father figure. Anyway, he described a defining moment in his life when he realized that there was something seriously wrong with his relationship with his kids. He happened to be home one day, and he was standing in the kitchen doing something when his young daughter walked in. He watched her as she opened a cabinet and reached for a glass. But she couldn't quite reach it, and after trying for a while she gave up. Then, she walked to the doorway of the kitchen and called out "Mom! Can you come in here and get me a glass so I can get a drink of water?!" The guy said he was totally shocked and it cut him deep that he was standing right there the whole time, in the same room, but his daughter felt like she needed to go to somebody else for assistance. As he thought about what his daughter must have been thinking, he came up with these two ideas; either my daughter doubts my capability of getting the glass for her. Or she doubts my willingness to do so, or in other words, she thinks I wouldn't help if she asked.

Now think about this. You are God's child, and He is always standing right there. As a believer, you are always in the presence of God. Through Christ, the veil was torn, and what kept us separated from God was destroyed. Ever since Christ's finished work, He has made Himself available to us 100%! He gives us His whole self! The same Jesus in the bible is with you now. He is not only capable. But He is willing. If God is standing right there, how do you think He feels when you look to someone else for something you need?

A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Mark 1:40-41
You are a child of almighty God. Not of the world. Start acting like it.
