Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. - Hebrews 13:8

Think about it.
You can pray powerful prayers even if you don't have any head knowledge about what you need to pray about.

God has made a way for anyone, even brand new believers in Jesus Christ that don't know much about spiritual things, to pray crazy, faith filled prayers, even for long periods of time.

Praying in tongues, or "praying in the Holy Spirit" is rest. It's a way that God helps us and takes care of us. When we don't know what to pray, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us in words that cannot be expressed in our own articulate language.

If you are not yet using this gift, pray this: "Father, I want, and realize that I need, this supernatural power. Please baptize me in your Holy Spirit with the evidence of the gift of praying in tongues. Thank you for baptizing me in your Holy Spirit, Father!"

Now, pray the words that are coming up from your spirit to your mouth. You can do this whenever you want.

God loves you.
Most Christians don't have a problem agreeing with the statement that you cannot be made righteous by your own righteous acts but only by trusting in Jesus and His righteousness and accepting His grace as a free gift. You can't earn it. But the one that some Christians do have a problem with is the statement that you cannot be made un-righteous by your own un-righteous acts. You are righteous because of what Jesus did for you. Period. As long as Jesus stands righteous before God, then as a believer in what Jesus accomplished, you stand righteous before God. Even when you fall, you fall in Christ. And He has promised to never leave you or forsake you.
Knowing that you are free to mess up will cause you to be able to take more risks and accomplish greater things.

You are free to make mistakes because Jesus already paid for your mistakes.

We're not struggling to be free"

For this post, I'm actually going to link to another blog post that I found  especially encouraging. Here is the link:…
And the title is "A story about praying in the spirit". This story is an an example of how something amazing is always happening when we pray in the power of the Holy Spirit or pray in tongues. I think it also can help us realize that if you are baptized in the Holy Spirit and pray in tongues, you really have no excuse to not be doing something for God. You should never say that you are simply not currently in a position in which you are able to help anyone. From the story above we can see that when you pray in tongues you never know who you could be praying for or helping. It could be somebody you don't know, it could be someone in your family. You could be praying about your future and speaking things into being. You could be praying about how you are going to help someone later. It could be later that week, or you could be praying about your future ministry and the things that God has planned for you years from now. The point is, you can pray in tongues even if you are chained to a tree. So don't ever say that you are in a powerless position! Jesus said that we would receive power when the Holy Spirit came (Acts 8:1). If you are a believer you are different from the rest of the world. You have that power!

Now, when you believed for salvation that means you have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you.  But what I'm talking about here is the manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit on the outside of you. Power that is tangible and visible to others. You don't need this power for your own salvation but this power is for service and for impacting others and the world around you.

Do you pray in tongues? If not, then know that your Father wants you to have power from the Holy Spirit, which includes this gift. Its free! You don't need to do anything. Just ask! Pray with me; "Father, I understand that I need your power to be active in my life, please baptize me in your Holy Spirit and take control of my life. Thank you Jesus for baptizing me in the Holy Spirit and giving me power!"

Congrats! You are now baptized in the power of the Holy Spirit! You will feel some words from a language you don't understand coming from your spirit to your mouth. Speak them by faith. You can do this whenever and wherever you want to. Remember, something good is always happening when you pray in tongues. Whether you are building yourself up or praying for someone else, it is never wasted time.

Be assured that even if you don't feel anything, when you prayed to be immersed in the power of the Holy Spirit you did receive what you asked for.  "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer" (Matt 21:22).  If you believed when you asked, Gods word promises that you did.

Remember, you are Jesus to this world. He wants to work through you. God loves you.
